Why Word Walls Work in Secondary Science
Word walls are traditionally an elementary teaching tool, but they're equally powerful in middle and high school physical science and physics. When my Texas administrators encouraged secondary teachers to incorporate word walls into our classrooms, the results were outstanding. Students invested genuine time and creativity into designing their pages and took real pride seeing their work on display. Over time, I noticed students naturally glancing at the wall during pop quizzes and bell work — that constant visual reinforcement helped energy vocabulary truly stick. Word walls don't just teach science terms; they give students ownership over their learning environment and transform classroom walls into student-made science displays.
How to Use These Coloring Pages
I created these pages for students who needed guidance and structure during word wall activities.
